Explore Tigertail Beach on Marco Island, Florida

Tigertail beach is a unique natural beach that is free of hotels, homes and condominiums. This nature wonder is excellent for shelling and finding sand dollars. Enjoy bird watching some of the threatened species like least ferns, black skimmers and sandpipers that nest during the spring. Herons, egrets and gulls also make Tigertail beach their home.

Tigertail Beach encompasses one-mile of public beachfront and includes 31 total acres. There is a tidal lagoon with wading pools that children really enjoy. The shore line water is shallow and deepens very gradually. A short wading distance across the lagoon is a small barrier island called Sand Dollar Island. There is a place to rent kayaks and paddle boats to use in the lagoon. In addition cabanas, umbrellas, chairs and beach wheelchairs are available to rent.

Tigertail has several beachside amenities such as a concession stand with food and drinks, public restrooms, and showers available. A playground area that is great for children ages 2 to 10. If you prefer to bring your own food there is a picnic area with tables and grills. Enjoy playing volleyball on the sand court. Tigertail beach has a lot to offer from lounging in the sun to getting active on the beach or in the water! Tigertail Beach is sure to please everyone in the family.
